What a Discord weather alert bot does
Bayou Radar monitors configured areas and posts matching weather alerts into the Discord channels you select. New alerts create messages; revisions update existing posts. Optional roles let you notify the members who follow that coverage.
The bot uses the Bayou Radar weather API as its primary alert source, with National Weather Service fallback when an area request fails. It distributes official weather information; Bayou Radar does not issue weather warnings.
Tornado, thunderstorm, and flood alerts
A county or parish subscription can match products such as Tornado Warnings, Severe Thunderstorm Warnings, and Flash Flood Warnings when those official alerts affect the configured area. Select an alert level for the subscription to control the types delivered.

Watch, warning, or advisory: what is the difference?
A watch indicates a greater risk of hazardous weather while details such as timing or location remain uncertain. A warning concerns a hazard that is happening or expected soon. Route local alerts without filling every channel
- Choose a county or parish instead of a statewide subscription.
- Select a dedicated text or announcement channel.
- Assign an optional weather role and verify it can be mentioned.
- Decide whether revisions should mention that role again.
- Send a clearly marked test from the dashboard before relying on the configuration.
