How to set up a Discord weather alert bot.

A few steps to connect local weather alerts to your community.

Open your dashboard

1. Connect Discord

Sign in using Discord and choose a server where you have Manage Server permission. If it is missing, refresh Discord access from your dashboard.

2. Add the official bot

Use the install button for that server. In your alert channel, allow View Channel, Send Messages, Embed Links, and Read Message History.

3. Choose your coverage

Add a state and parish or county, then select a text or announcement channel. Choose an optional notification role and alert level. The role must be mentionable or the bot must have permission to mention roles.

4. Check your delivery

Send a test from your server dashboard. Check the message appears in the intended channel. You can edit update mentions and whether existing alerts are announced for each subscription.

Keep your setup easy to maintain

Start with one local area and a dedicated alert channel. After the test message arrives, review update mentions so members know when a role will be notified. Use separate subscriptions to route different areas when your plan allows them.
